Econo Lodge Inn & Suites Old Saybrook - Westbrook

The hotel room was clean except I had to change the shower curtain myself. It was dirty at the bottom. This is a personal choice but I prefer a tub. They only have showers in the rooms. You pretty much had to ring the bell almost every time you went to the desk no matter the time of day. Service was good though. The front desk area was very much on the dark side, it was not inviting to say the least. Laundry facilities were adequate. Location was great for what we were interested in and the hotel grounds itself was very nice with a lake and geese on the lake.

This place was ok - the room was clean, if outdated. The beds were very comfortable (standard hotel beds). The property is a little old but has the potential to be a kitschy motel. My 1 complaint is that the ac unit turned off randomly in the middle of the night. I woke up bc it was hot around 330am and went over to try and get it working but it wouldn't turn back on no matter what I did. I considered trying to let the front desk know but I had stopped by earlier that night in our way in and no one was there. And then I thought, are they going to bring someone in to fix it at 4am? And just thought better of it. Then randomly at around 7am it turned back on. It wouldn't have been that big of a deal but we had a 7hr drive ahead of us that we would have liked to get started early for but since we didn't sleep well, we ended up getting a late start and hit traffic and our 7hr drive turned into a 10 hr drive.... other than that I would say it was a little less quality than your standard holiday inn but as long as the beds are comfy and I can get a good night's sleep, that's what matters to me

Due to unforseen circumstances I had to get a bed for the night and was near here. The man who helped me, despite being around 11pm, was very polite and helpful. The room was very neat and clean. The decorations were new and smart. The bed was so comfortable that I could have slept the whole day in it ! The bathroom was very clean and had a good supply of towels. I didn't use the television but it looked like it had a good selection of channels. Parking was easy. Would definitely go back again.

There were 5 adults on our trip and we all bunked in one room with a sofa sleeper. The hotel and grounds were kept very clean, beautiful flowers/landscaping, and at night very pretty blue lighting. We stayed 2 nights, we had a little trouble with the tv but staff were able to assist. Breakfast was a grab and go bag—not very celiac friendly for those who can’t eat flour, but it did have fruit and bottled water. Pool was closed for the season—would be nice if that could be enclosed and open year-round. But as far as price, sleeping, and safety—it met our needs.

I normally do not write reviews. However, this location just saved me during the blizzard. Single mom with 2 dogs, travelling?! IFYKYK On top of that, i got my rental SUV stuck on ice and they helped a lot getting it moved......I am thankful and grateful for them.

10 nights here... Perfectly clean, staff very friendly, especially the room cleaner's and the receptionist who, along with her husband went over the top to help be get a Uber when my phone went crazy ! Very peaceful, which encourages a great night sleep. And free Coffee, what more could I want Would definitely stay here again !

The owner/manager here was absolutely awesome after hearing about an incident I had at the Super 8 around the corner. He was very accommodating and had a room available for me and my family. Great location, friendly staff, very clean. The beds were comfy and the room was a nice size. Perfect for what we needed. Noise level was mild but nothing bad at all. One issue with the power being out all day as there was line work going in but didn't effect us as we spent the entire day out and about. When we arrived back for the night the power was back on. UPDATE - SECOND STAY 9/13/24: This was my second time staying at this hotel and once again it was a pleasant stay. The room was clean and I love the fact it has no carpet in the room. The halls were clean and smelled good. The staff was always pleasant and accommodating. The complimentary breakfast is ok - make your own waffles, coffee, orange juice and a "breakfast" bag containing a banana, water and mini muffins. I wish they had more options but this worked well for my granddaughter. Dunkin is up the road which worked for me and my daughter. Really hoping the next time we visit the pool will be repaired and open. Overall a really nice place to stay. UPDATE - Third time here - Aug 2025 - same consistency with the clean rooms and lack of breakfast. Pool needs to be removed and maybe turned into another seating space as it is not available. Service was great again - staff was attentive. Definitely my go to when making a beach trip.

Was lucky to find this place on a friday night in the summer at the beach. The staff is awesome. Had a flat tire the morning I was checking out. Front desk people helped me with a compressor and directions to a tire place. Really nice people. The room was fine. Nicest econolodge. Breakfast is pathetic, but coffee is available 24/7. Don't need much more than that...thank you for your generous hospitality.
